Is this an upgrade to Zachary or just to AD2?

AD2 Toolkit 2001 is an upgrade to both Zachary and the AD2 "plugin." The new Zachary is "nearly" compatible with Zachary 2.0 and later versions. Only minor changes will be required to your Zachary definition files, if any. The definition files conversion to the new version is automatic. The new version of Zachary is not available without AD2 because AD2 is now required (Zachary generated code makes calls to the AD2 library).

Can I buy an upgrade to Zachary only?

No, it would not work. Our upgrade to Zachary relies on routines and functions that are in the AD2 Toolkit. So buy the AD2 Toolkit. You’ll get the Zachary upgrade as a free bonus.

Does this version work with Windows Me (Millenium Edition), Windows 2000 and Windows XP?

Yes! There were several issues related to these Windows versions that affected your Zachary programs and how well they run. These were resolved and are handled automatically by the AD2 2001 Toolkit. Revision D includes the Windows updates, and was shipped free to all registered users of the AD2 2001 Toolkit. Later revisions will be via patch at this website.

Is this version compatible with Zachary version 1.x?

The AD2 2001 Toolkit is not compatible with the older Zachary version 1.x files. If you’ve been using Zachary 1.x, you’ll need to redefine your application with the new Zachary.

Is this compatible with Clipper 5.2 or Clipper 5.3?

Zachary/AD2 are compatible with both Clipper 5.2e and 5.3b. (Zachary 2.0 was really compatible only with 5.2. If you've been using it successfully with 5.3, I suspect you've made certain corrections to generated code, generated link scripts, and certain library routines. The new Zachary has a software switch where you select which version of Clipper you're using. Then code and link files are generated for that version. In addition, the ZACH2 and AD2 libraries are compiled in both versions of Clipper, with appropriate code changes where needed.)

What versions of R&R Report Writer is the AD2 interface designed for?

The AD2 Toolkit includes a versatile interface to R&R Report Writer, versions 5 (DOS) and 9 (Windows). We have users who use R&R version 4 and 6 with the DOS interface as well, though it was designed for version 5. The Windows R&R version 8.x will also work with our interface, though new features will not be available. R&R Versions 8 and 9 run on Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP. The interface is designed to launch the Windows report writer from the Zachary application.

What is Zachary?

Most of the people interested in these upgrades have already been Zachary users for some time. Occasionally we have new users who are wondering exactly what all the fuss about Zachary might be.
